Vatican Sitting On Time Machine?

​The Vatican was accused of hiding many things. Now, it's being accused of hiding a time machine.

The machine in question is called a "Chronovisor" and was built in the 1950s by a Benedictine monk named Father Pellegrino Ernetti. No photos of the Chronovisor exist, but paranormal journalist John Chambers says Ernetti reportedly used the "way back machine" to film Christ's crucifixion for Vatican officials.

Ernetti died in 1994 without revealing the secret of the Chronovisor but Chambers says evidence is mounting that the Catholic Church is hiding a working model from the rest of the world, supposedly to keep it from getting into evil hands.

Sound crazy? Maybe, but there may be something to it.

Chambers says a Jesuit priest named Father Francois Brune believes the Chronovisor must exist because, in the priest's words,

"Ernetti wouldn't lie about such things."

Everything about the life of Father Pellegrino Ernetti suggests that this Italian Benedictine priest-scientist was a man of integrity and would not have created a hoax about his work on the chronovisor. Venice-based Father Ernetti (1925-1994) was an authority on archaic music, a scholar in Greek and Latin, a sought-after exorcist, a confidant of the influential, and an object of questioning by the Vatican and NASA.

After his death the chronovisor was nowhere to be found, leading his critics to proclaim this otherwise distinguished scientist-priest a fraud.

More ancient viruses lurk in our DNA than we thought

One whole endogenous retrovirus genome -- and bits of 17 others -- were spotted in a study of 2,500 human genomes
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Think your DNA is all human? Think again. And a new discovery suggests its even less human than scientists previously thought.

Nineteen new pieces of DNA -- left by viruses that first infected our ancestors hundreds of thousands of years ago -- have just been found, lurking between our own genes.

And one stretch of newfound DNA, found in about 50 of the 2,500 people studied, contains an intact, full genetic recipe for an entire virus, say the scientists who published their findings today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Whether or not it can replicate, or reproduce, it isnt yet known. But other studies of ancient virus DNA have shown it can affect the humans who carry it.

In addition to finding these new stretches, the scientists also confirmed 17 other pieces of virus DNA found in human genomes by other scientists in recent years.

The study looked at the entire span of DNA, or genome, from people from around the world, including a large number from Africa -- where the ancestors of modern humans originated before migrating around the world. The team used sophisticated techniques to compare key areas of each persons genome to the reference human genome.

Working at Tufts University and the University of Michigan Medical School, the researchers made the findings with funding from the National Institutes of Health.

The findings add to what science already knows about human endogenous retroviruses, or HERVs. Thats the name for the ancient infectious viruses that inserted a DNA-based copy of their own RNA genetic material into our ancestors genomes. Theyre part of the same type of virus that includes the modern human immunodeficiency virus, which causes AIDS.

Over generations, the virus-generated DNA kept getting copied and handed down when humans reproduced. Thats how it ended up in our DNA today. In fact, about 8 percent of what we think of as our human DNA actually came from viruses. In some cases, HERV sequences have been adopted by the human body to serve a useful purpose, such as one that helps pregnant womens bodies build a cell layer around a developing fetus to protect it from toxins in the mothers blood.

The new HERVs are part of the family called HERV-K. The intact whole viral genome, or provirus, just found was on the X chromosome; its been dubbed Xq21. Its only the second intact provirus found to be hiding in human DNA.

In the researchers own words:
This one looks like it is capable of making infectious virus, which would be very exciting if true, as it would allow us to study a viral epidemic that took place long ago, says senior author and virologist John Coffin, Ph.D. of the Tufts University School of Medicine. This research provides important information necessary for understanding how retroviruses and humans have evolved together in relatively recent times.

Many studies have tried to link these endogenous viral elements to cancer and other diseases, but a major difficulty has been that we haven't actually found all of them yet, says co-first author Zachary H. Williams, a Ph.D. student at the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences at Tufts University in Boston. A lot of the most interesting elements are only found in a small percentage of people, which means you have to screen a large number of people to find them.

This is a thrilling discovery, says co-first author Julia Wildschutte, Ph.D., who began the work as a Ph.D. student in Coffins lab at Tufts. It will open up many doors to research. Whats more, we have confirmed in this paper that we can use genomic data from multiple individuals compared to the reference human genome to detect new HERVs. But this has also shown us that some people carry insertions that we cant map back to the reference.

U-M genetics researcher Jeffrey Kidd, Ph.D., worked with Wildschutte when she was a member of his laboratory team. These are remnants of ancient events that have not been fixed in the population as a whole, but rather happened in the ancestors of some people alive today, Kidd says. There have been a number of examples of other HERVs that insert themselves next to human genes or near them, and have impact on their expression. Were interested in applying these methods to find other types of viral or mobile element insertions.

Genetic teamwork
The Michigan team used methods for characterizing repetitive DNA sequences that Kidd and his team had developed, while Coffin and Williams used complementary techniques. Wildschutte is now at Bowling Green State University.

Many of the genomes they examined were from the 1000 Genomes Project, an international collaboration. Another set of genomes came from work Kidd and colleagues at Stanford University had done as part of the Human Genome Diversity Project, with a focus on DNA samples from African volunteers.

These latter samples showed more signs of HERVs, in line with the high level of genetic diversity in African populations. That diversity stems from the longtime stability and intermixing of the continents population – as opposed to other populations in Europe, Asia and the Americas that stem from specific out-migrations in ancient times.

Cataloging all the HERV insertions in humans will require even more scanning of whole human genomes, which are becoming easier to come by as technology improves and becomes less expensive. And although intact proviruses lurking in our DNA may be rare, the impact of other HERV sequences on our health or disease is probably not.

UFO hunters have spotted an alien ship in Google Earth satellite images of Antarctica.

Investigators from a YouTube channel called Secure Team zoomed in on a mountainous region of the South Pole and found what appears to be a disc poking out of a cave.

This sighting was hailed as final proof of secret technology on the frozen continent.

This is a bombshell discovery and one of the most obvious unnatural and anomalous structures we have found at the South Pole, Secure Team said.

There have been a number of unexplained Google Earth sightings in Antarctica recently, including what looks like a large pyramid.

This has led to wild speculation about a lost civilisation hidden under the ice and even claims that aliens had built a massive base in Antarctica.

Other people have suggested the Nazis went to the South Pole to test out saucer-shaped craft.

Of course, many of the pyramids and flying saucers discovered in the polar regions could be natural formations or glitches in the images.

Last year, the internet lit up with discussion about a huge and mysterious anomaly lurking beneath the frozen wastes of an area called Wilkes Land.

The icy wastelands of Antarctica are infamously barren and inhospitable, making research very difficult Some researchers believe it is the remains of a truly massive asteroid which was more than twice the size of the Chicxulub space rock which wiped out the dinosaurs.

If this explanation is true, it could mean this killer asteroid caused the Permian–Triassic extinction event which killed 96 percent of Earths sea creatures and up to 70 percent of the vertebrate organisms living on land.

However, the wilder minds of the internet have come up with their own theories, with some conspiracy theorists claiming it could be a massive UFO base or a portal to a mysterious underworld called the Hollow Earth.

This Wilkes Land gravity anomaly was first uncovered in 2006, when NASA satellites spotted gravitational changes which indicated the presence of a huge structure sitting in the middle of a 300 mile wide impact crater.

This continent has been shrouded in a mystery of its own for years now.

Secure Team suggested the Nazis built secret bases in Antarctica during World War II, which were designed to be used by flying saucers.

The UFO hunters added: There is some evidence of this coming to light in recent years, which images purporting to show various entrances built into the side of mountains, with a saucer shape and at a very high altitude.

Earth And Moon May Be On Long-Term Collision Course

For now, our anomalously large Moon is spinning away from us at a variable rate of 3.8 centimeters per year. But, in fact, the Earth and Moon may be on a very long-term collision course --- one that incredibly some 65 billion years from now, could result in a catastrophic lunar inspiral.

The final end-state of tidal evolution in the Earth-Moon system will indeed be the inspiral of the Moon and its subsequent collision and accretion onto Earth, Jason Barnes, a planetary scientist at the University of Idaho, told me

We can't be sure, yet, though, whether or not the Earth-Moon system would survive the Sun's Red Giant Phase, says Barnes. That is, when some six billion years from now our Sun runs out of nuclear fuel; its core becomes a burned-out remnant white dwarf; and, its outer layers expand outward beyond Earth orbit.

Although there is much disagreement on the timing of such a lunar endgame inspiral, most theorists do agree on the timing of the Moons formation. While there are alternative ideas about the Moons formation and/or capture in Earth orbit, most theorists think that some 4.5 billion years ago, our Moon formed from the coalescence of matter ejected after a Mars-sized impactor slammed head-on into our nascent Earth.

And its been receding from Earth ever since.

This recession is due to tidal friction caused by the effects of the Moon's gravitational tides on the Earth, Barnes told me. In fact, the rate at which the Moon recedes is a function of Earths rotation and the dissipation of tidal energy in Earth's oceans, says Barnes. This happens primarily in shallow seas of 100 meters or less, he says.

As a result, the timing of the Moons ongoing recession is hard to precisely predict . Thats because, as Barnes points out, the Earth goes through glacial and interglacial cycles, causing the area of shallow seas to change as sea level rises and falls.

And over longer geologic time, Earths tectonic plates also rearrange themselves, which changes the amount of tidal dissipation and thus the rate of the Moons recession.

Researchers can put a precise figure on the current rate of recession as a result of retro reflector experiments the Apollo missions left on the lunar surface.

We bounce lasers off of these and other retro reflectors on the Soviet Lunokhod rovers to measure the distance to the Moon precisely, said Barnes. Using these, we've directly measured how fast the Moon is receding.

However, Barnes says eventually the Earth's rotation will keep slowing until it's the same as the Moon's orbital period. At that point, the Moon will stop moving outward, he says. Assuming the Earth-Moon system has not been swallowed by a Red Giant Sun by that point, any remaining solar tides would soon sap energy from the Earth-Moon system. And the Moon would start creeping inwards, towards Earth.

Eventually, it would get so close that it would spiral inward, dissipating its orbital kinetic energy in a spectacular collision and merger with the Earth, said Barnes.

Could our future progeny geo-engineer their way around such a crash?

With the Sun having been a remnant white dwarf for tens of billions of years, the Earth would be frozen solid and would have been that way for billions of years, says Barnes.

But if there were someone hanging out here in a heated dome or something, the energy released in the merging would re-melt the Earth into a magma ocean, said Barnes.

HUNDREDS of ancient earthworks similar to that found at Englands Stonehenge have been discovered in the Amazon, proving for the first time that some of the first settlers in Brazil cleared large swaths of the rainforest.

Many believed large scale deforestation was a relatively new concept, exacerbated by the industrial revolution at the end of the 1800s and beginning of the 1900s.

But the discovery of earthworks that are roughly 2,000 years old in the Amazon proves that deforestation has been around since the year zero.

While the regrowth of trees had blocked the trees for centuries, recent deforestation has allowed some 450 earthworks, known as geoglyphs, to reemerge, discovered by scientists from the UK and Brazil flying drones over the areas.

The scientists behind the discovery are unsure what purpose the geoglyphs, which are spread out over a 13,000 kilometre squared region serve, but feel that they were probably used for rituals or religion.

Jennifer Watling, a post-doctoral researcher at the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography, University of Sao Paulo, although she carried out during her time at the University of Exeter, said: "The fact that these sites lay hidden for centuries beneath mature rainforest really challenges the idea that Amazonian forests are 'pristine ecosystems`.

"We immediately wanted to know whether the region was already forested when the geoglyphs were built, and to what extent people impacted the landscape to build these earthworks."

However, she warned: Our evidence that Amazonian forests have been managed by indigenous peoples long before European Contact should not be cited as justification for the destructive, unsustainable land-use practiced today.

It should instead serve to highlight the ingenuity of past subsistence regimes that did not lead to forest degradation, and the importance of indigenous knowledge for finding more sustainable land-use alternatives.
